I’ve been known to cry on plane rides home, but it hadn’t happened in quite some time. That is, until Baja.
The party started inside. Kevin sought out to make a cake he’d never made before (classic Kevin), the contents of which included an entire bottle of Cobram Estate + blood orange topped with decadent chunks of raw honeycomb (spoiler: it was even better than it sounds).
A beautiful home in wine country, ethically sourced + sewed in-house linen, effortless bedding and a new ready to wear line were the elements that went into making this recent shoot an all-time favorite.
I grew up coming to Carmel almost every other year with my parents. We’d hop in the car, drive the short two and a half hours southwest and suddenly find ourselves in what I always perceived to be a real-life fairytale. Cottages with more character than those of my childhood fantasies lined the quaint streets and secret alleyways. I always knew the small town was lovely, but it wasn’t until coming back as a married adult that I truly appreciated the history and romance of this seaside oasis.
“Easy, yet seemingly impressive,” me, every time I’m in search of a new recipe for a dinner party or date night.
There are great shoots, and then there are really, really great shoots. This was a prime example of the latter; Kim + Ono is a San Francisco based, lady-boss ran, kimono company. They specialize in silk and charmeuse print kimonos, each rich in color with an original pattern. Beautiful pieces combined with a dream glam team made this San Francisco shoot one of my favorites to date.
A week ago, I couldn’t have pointed out Pacific City, Oregon on a map. This week, I seem to start every conversation with, “Have you heard of Pacific City, Oregon?!” A quick 48 hour stay at Headlands Coastal Lodge (a coastal oasis nestled between massive dunes along the endless coastline of the Pacific Northwest) were just enough time to convince us that there is magic to be found along the Oregon Coast.
The Land of Enchantment. They (…whoever they are) couldn’t have come up with a better name for this magical desert oasis. The beautiful plains of New Mexico made for the perfect backdrop while shooting content for The Frye Company’s newest fall collection complete with redesigned classics and a stunning ready to wear line which launches next month.
I admit, I’m not a huge lover of Chardonnay. It’s not that I have anything against the varietal (well, most of them), it’s just not the first thing I reach for while perusing the aisles of my beloved BevMo. However, spending a week photographing vineyards + wineries along the Central Coast turned this non-believer into a first class fan.
Sometimes, all you really need is some R&R with your best friend. Nicole and I are always planning little getaways, but Arizona was one destination we had yet to explore together. When the opportunity to visit The Scott Resort & Spa came about, we took one look online at the beautiful bar, thoughtful branding, and stunning set of pools and said, “Yup.”
